Asking prices for UK homes dipped in June, the first month-on-month fall recorded by Rightmove since December, as political uncertainty weighed on the market.
Asking prices fell 0.4 per cent month on month in June, according to the property website, snapping five months of growing prices and marking the first June price fall in eight years. Prices had risen 1.2 per cent in the previous month.
In year on year terms, house prices rose 1.8 per cent in June, although this was below a median estimate from economists compiled by Bloomberg of a 2.8 per cent increase, as well as the weakest increase since April 2013. House prices rose 3 per cent in May year on year.
