House prices in one area of Surrey have rocketed by more than a third in a year.
In the KT20 6 area around Kingswood in Reigate and Banstead borough, median prices rose from £635,000 in 2015 to £865,000 last year - an increase of 36%.
Analysis by Get Surrey uses sold prices from the Land Registry's price paid data and is based on areas with more than four sales in both of the last two years.
The figures show that the next biggest rise was in west Woking where prices were up by 30%, while in parts of Elmbridge around Molesey the cost of homes went up by 29%.
The area with the biggest drop in prices was GU10 5 near Farnham, where the median
price fell 22% from £725,000 in 2015 to £563,250 in 2016.
KT22 0 in the Oxshott/Leatherhead area had the highest median price locally, at £1.3million, Surrey’s only £1million postcode, while the postcode with the lowest prices was RH6 7 in Horley,where the median price was £238,000.
The area with the biggest price rise in England and Wales in 2016 was W1U 5, around Marylebone, in Westminster, where median prices jumped 294% from £990,000 in 2015 to £3.9million in 2015.
