Alternatively, if you fancy something a bit closer to the sea, this three bedroom villa near the beaches of the Costa Blanca in Spain will set you back just £155,700.

If being in the midst of nature is more your thing, then this fi ve bedroom house in the heart of a UNESCO world heritage site in west France is only £5,700 more expensive than a two bedroom terraced home on the Pershore Road - at just £155,700.
