Russell Beard says there is 'a lot of good things going on in Bedford'
MORE than half of the homes listed for sale in the area have already agreed to be sold, making Bedford one of the country's 'property hotspots'.
According to research released by online estate agent eMoov, 57 per cent of homes in the town on are either already sold subject to contract or under offer.
Only eight other cities or towns in the country had a higher percentage of houses which had agreed to be sold than in Bedford.
Good transport links, coupled with comparative affordability are the main reasons for this, according to Russell Beard, director of Cooper Beard estate agents.
Mr Beard said: "The obvious cause is affordability, coupled with there being a lot of good things going on in Bedford.
"The town also had great transport links, with new bypasses and the railway link to London playing a big part.
"These advantages are not reflected in the house prices for Bedford.
"This, coupled with there being a shortage of housing stock in Bedford, means when a house comes up for sale in the town they are usually snapped up quickly, assuming there is nothing wrong with them and they are a fair price."
