Be smart with art

You can’t go mad and paint the walls, but prints and posters are the next best thing. Just be careful how you hang them, as some landlords will charge you for Blu-Tack marks or nail holes. Ask where they stand on putting up pictures. If the worst comes to worst, there are plenty of no-marks solutions available — from hanging lines and Velcro for photos to ladders and grids for larger pictures. Too much hassle? Then just prop up your favourite framed piece against the wall.
