House prices near Old Trafford more expensive than the Etihad

People who live in the same postcode as Old Trafford have an average house price of £188,285 - around £45,000 more than their ‘noisy neighbours’ - according to an M.E.N report

Manchester City may have topped the Premier League this year, but when it comes to poshest football grounds, United have the home advantage.

People who live in the same postcode as Old Trafford have an average house price of £188,285 - around £45,000 more than their ‘noisy neighbours’ - according to an M.E.N report.

Our data team has produced a Premier League of “poshest football grounds” across the country, based on property prices around the club’s stadiums. Taking figures from the Land Registry between 2012 and 2014, we can reveal house values in the same postcodes as all 20 Premier League grounds.

Those living in the same postcode as Old Trafford had an average house price of £188,285 - around £45,000 more than the Blues.

Over in east Manchester, a home near the Etihad Stadium is worth £141,843 on average.

London clubs obviously topped the chart - with Chelsea’s average house price at £669,672 near Stamford Bridge - while Everton and Liverpool were rock bottom. Residents around Anfield have an average price of £63,304, while those near Goodison Park hit £43,017.

It won’t come as a surprise that Chelsea and QPR had grounds in the most expensive postcodes in the Premier League. They were followed by Arsenal, Crystal Palace and then West Ham.

Manchester United were next at number six. The average house price in Old Trafford’s postcode - M16 - is £188, 285. Those living within a stone’s throw of Manchester City’s ground - in the M11 postcode - could expect an average of £141, 843.

The average home in SW6, home of Chelsea FC, sells for an average of £669,672 - by far the most expensive post code of Premier League clubs. Goodison Park, home of Everton, is in L4, where properties sell for just £43,017, making it the Premier League’s cheapest postcode and over 15 times cheaper than SW6, where Chelsea play.
