House prices in the South West rose by 0.3% in the past month, according to property website Home.co.uk. The same research found that the increase in the region’s house prices over the past year was 5%, with the average asking price now standing at £268,800.
London has seen the sharpest increases, with prices rising 18.9% in the past year, while the Scottish housing market shows no sign of recovery at all.
The South West also saw a fall in the time houses are on the market before selling. It’s now an average of 116 days before a house in the region sells, making this the third most active region outside London for property sales in the country, after the South East (76 days) and East Anglia (92 days).
